| | 19 November 2009 Ah ah. Funny. Really... Fuck.
I've been working on a canyon-themed map for some time now and collecting tons of problems since day one. Right now, I'm having a MAX_GLTEXTURES critical error each time I try to load another map in memory after loading the canyon. I though it was related to the amount of GPU memory usage and reduced the size of textures but it didn't helped a bit. I tried to remove all alpha surfaces from the map but it didn't work either. Reducing lightmap usage by up scaling textures is hopeless (yeah, I know, there's not connection anyway).
As a reference point, Total Overdose loads up to 543744 pixels in memory for the *first* 35 textures listed under gtkradiant. The canyon map exactly loads 288000 pixels (so *in theory*, it should require half the GPU memory to load). I really have no idea where this error is popping up from and don't know how to fix it. I rather just stop wasting my time on that map and start all over again from scratch, only guessing why it didn't worked in the first place.
(All apologises for the cursing)
| 05 November 2009 Final version of Total Overdose released! Go get it! | 03 November 2009 Gasp. Pardon my near manic and unusual level of excitation but I've got something for ya! Head to the download section so I can give you... a head!
Hell no, not in THAT way. Geez (XD). It's some uninspired art but ow, c'mon, I'm trying to be productive for once. There's also a preview in the gallery.
By the way, before I forget: I won't include new skins along with DM Maps anymore. So you only download what you want/need (Kraze Bot support will still be bundled though).
Have (safe) fun!
| 31 October 2009 Total Overdose version 2 available (check "downloads" section, new screenshot in "maps").
This is a small (from two to four players -- four recommended) multiplayer map loosely based on Total Overdose's "Grandioso Imports" layout. If you ever played that fun (but yet stereotypical shit-filled) game, the area is located in Puerto Los Toros. Along with the BSP map, you get the .MAP source, a custom skybox, three new heads for the RUNT model, one new torso and a few new textures. The archive also includes navigations files and bot configuration for Kraze Bots.
Also, the Minisite (first semi-reliable version) PHP source and template should be released soon. So if you ever find yourself in a hurry and need to set up a website for your school projects or whatever (you know what I mean, Axelle XD), you don't have to worry no more!
There you go. | 21 October 2009 I'm not managing to make regular updates, but just to let you know everything's fine for this stuff.
The website is pretty much done from now on: the minisite code is working well, flexible enough to allow nice design and stuff. It still cannot manage "archive" files yet (.ZIP, .7Z and .RAR) but it's coming... Sooner or later. | 20 October 2009 So, what's this shit all about? Nothing, really. Word.
Okay well, maybe not. I'm trying to achieve a couple of things here: [número uno] coding an easy to update minisite/portfolio stuff (it's just a minisite, I'm not pretending to maintain a portfolio or getting hired for that kind of stuff) and [número dos] have some nice cribs where I ca put random shots without feeling the urge to check Kingpin Forever's message board every five minutes or so (I like this place but checking forums, as a general rule, is a complete waste of time -- you know what I'm saying).
Anyway, I'm a bit late for the war already but there you go: new Kingpin maps and skins (in progress... if any). | |
